The National Eligibility Test (NET) for Junior Research Fellowship (JRF) and Lectureship will be conducted by the Council for Scientific and Industrial Research (CSIR) and the University Grants Commission (UGC) on June 22, 2014. 

The subjects are Chemical Sciences; Earth, Atmospheric, Ocean and Planetary Sciences; Life Sciences, Mathematical Sciences; Physical Sciences and Engineering Sciences. Candidates may apply online for either JRF or lectureship. Merit lists will be prepared for each. The candidates qualifying for the JRF, except in Engineering Sciences, will be eligible for lectureship also. The candidates qualifying for lectureship will be eligible for recruitment as lecturers and for the JRF in a scheme project.

Those who have passed M.Sc., BE or B.Tech., B.Pharm., MBBS, integrated BS-MS, four-year BS or equivalent degree with at least 55 per cent marks, those awaiting results of the final examinations of these courses, or those who have a B.Sc. (Honours) degree with at least 55 per cent marks and enrolled in an integrated M.Sc.-Ph.D. programme may apply for NET.

The syllabus and the scheme of examination are given on the website. Wrong answers get negative marks. Apply online on www.csirhrdg.res.in and download the bank challan to deposit the fee. Before applying online, candidates are advised to go through the detailed notification on www.csirhrdg.res.in.
